Porcelain, found objects
6' x 10' x 8"
This piece explores place and the nature of memory. In the two years I spent living in the Mississippi Delta, the birds remain my strongest memory. The piece is a meditation on place, the fallibility of memory, and an exploration on how we construct the past through objects. The 'real' objects themselves are facsimiles that represent both places and time, while their replicas, not quite fully rendered, remind us of the malleable nature of our constructed inner lives.
